Small Public Places
The small public places in the school’s local environment were the tool for teaching and learning about the built environment and participation for schoolchildren in six primary schools in Oslo. The project formed part of the municipal initiative “Safer City” and was a following-up of two previous “Small Ugly Places Projects” (also a co-operation between the Municipality of Oslo and Form&Arkitektur). This time, the Swedish firm of architects Apell&Månsson was asked to join in and worked in close co-operation with Form&Arkitektur. The former was responsible for the majority of participating schools. The project took place during the school year 200-2001.
